Your application

Your application

We ask all applicants to start the process by completing this application form. The questions help us to understand if you meet both the national and Ark Teacher Training criteria for joining our programme. Good luck!

Step 1 of 5

By providing my phone number, I am happy to be contacted by phone.
This helps us match you with a school, should you be successful with your application. If you do not yet know where you will be living during the training year, please enter into the 'postcode' field a narrowed-down area within the Ark region that you have told us you wish to be based in (our regions are London, Birmingham, Hastings, Southampton and Portsmouth)

Providing us with this information helps us match you with a school if you're successful! You may not yet know where you'll be living during the training year; in this case, please enter a more specific area within your preferred Ark region into the 'postcode' box.

Step 2 of 5

For more information on these options and what they mean, please visit https://www.arkteachertraining.org/your-training-year/funding/

We welcome applications from internal staff. Please note that if you are invited to our first round of assessment, we will ask you to let your Principal know that you have been shortlisted for our programme.

Step 3 of 5
Eligibility Questions

National eligibility for teacher training

If you did your undergraduate degree overseas, but have the relevant ENIC-NARIC documentation to provide us with later in the form, you may select 'Yes'. If you have not had your degree's equivalency confirmed by ENIC-NARIC, you won't be able to complete this question.

Overseas qualifications:
If you do not hold UK (or Irish) qualifications for your undergraduate degree or GCSE level, you will need to obtain an ENIC-NARIC certificate as evidence that your qualifications are equivalent. You can do this by contacting ENIC-NARIC at www.naric.org.uk.

If your ENIC-NARIC certificate states that your English qualification ‘was studied as a second language’, we won’t be able to accept this as equivalent to English GCSE and you will need to pass an English ‘GCSE equivalency test’ before applying to our programme.

If you do not currently possess the required ENIC-NARIC and/or English GCSE equivalency certificates, please do not proceed with your application until you have obtained them.

Please include any English, Maths and Science grades in these figures
Please note: if you completed your qualifications outside the UK and your ENIC-NARIC certificate states ‘English was studied as a second language’, you must also complete an English GCSE equivalency test. Visit our website for further details on this.

Ark Schools requires all employees to undertake an enhanced DBS check. You are required, before appointment, to disclose any unspent conviction, caution, reprimand or warning under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975. Non-disclosure may lead to termination of employment. However, disclosure of a criminal background will not necessarily debar you from employment – this will depend upon the nature of the offence(s) and when they occurred.

In relation to the above, if you have any unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings which would not be filtered in line with current guidance, you are obliged to detail these below:

Your employment at Ark is subject to two satisfactory references. Please provide contact details of two referees (covering the last 3 years), one of whom should be your current employer.
