Completing Your Training
Qualified Teacher Status
Once you reach the end of your training year and it has been confirmed that you meet the Teachers Standards, you will be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a nationally recognised teaching qualification allowing you to teach in other schools.
PGCE
By training with us, you will also gain your internationally recognised Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) through our partnership with Goldsmiths, University of London. This PGCE also counts as 60 credits to use towards a Master’s degree– a third of the credits needed for the full qualification.
Graduation
Completing your training year is no small feat, and we want you to be able to appreciate and celebrate just how far you’ve come since your very first day.
So at the end of every year, we hold a graduation event for our trainees to enjoy with each other and their colleagues.
We Invest In you
Early Career Teacher Programme
Your journey with Ark Teacher Training goes beyond the programme.
Once you’ve graduated and achieved Qualified Teacher Standard (QTS), you have the choice to advance onto our two-year Early Career Teacher (ECT) programme and continue to build on the skills, theory and practice that you learnt during your training year.
What’s more, you’ll receive a full teacher’s salary on the two-year ECT programme.
The Ark Network is Open to You
There are also a wealth of opportunities with Ark Teacher Training and the wider Ark Schools network. After qualifying, trainees have gone on to mentor new cohorts and lead the programme in school. The sky’s the limit with Ark, from becoming the head of a department to leading a school!
