The best way to find out what it’s like to be a teacher is to experience a working classroom yourself! We run a series of insight days throughout the year which aim to give prospective applicants the opportunity to see what happens inside a classroom, as well as to observe different teachers and meet some of our students. Our insight days are one day long and you must be eligible for our teacher training programme.
Our insight days are particularly recommended for students in their final year of university or a recent graduates.
Spend a day in one of our classrooms and experience:
- A welcome and tour of the school
- Meeting with one of our teachers from the relevant department/year group to discuss subject pedagogy
- Observe a lesson and see an example of great teaching in the subject/key stage of your choice
- Meet with a current Ark Teacher Training trainee or NQT (newly qualified teacher) to find out more about the programme
To apply, please email your CV and a brief statement explaining what attracted you to Ark Teacher Training and the teaching career to email@example.com.
All CVs MUST include GCSE and A level subjects and grades as well as a degree subject and result (predicted or obtained).
The whole day has been very useful from observing a set of lessons to talking to teachers. I've really gained an insight into what it’s like being a teacher in and out of the classroom.LeoBSc Mathematics, King’s College London
Watching both a qualified and trainee teacher lessons was very informative. It was great to see the ways the Ark Teacher Training trainee was supported in the classroom.AnnaBA Education with Music, University of Cambridge
